View your plan
The Current subscription card at the top of the page shows:
- A status badge in the card header — one of: No subscription, Incomplete, Incomplete (expired), Trial, Active, Past due, Canceled, Unpaid, or Paused.
- The plan name and price (e.g. Pro · CA$49.00 / month).
- A Renews on <date> row when the subscription will auto-renew, or Ends on <date> when it has been cancelled and will lapse on that date.
- A Trial ends <date> sub-row while the subscription is on trial.
- A red "Payment failed. Update your card in the billing portal to keep the service active." banner when the most recent payment didn't go through (status Past due or Unpaid). Use Manage in Stripe to update your card.
Choose or change a plan
- Below the current-subscription card, click the plan you want.
- You're redirected to a Stripe Checkout page.
- Enter payment details and complete checkout.
- You return to the subscription page. A brief "Confirming your subscription with Stripe…" message appears for a few seconds while Stripe finishes confirming the payment with us, then your new plan and renewal date appear. If it doesn't update within ~15 seconds, refresh the page.
Manage your payment method
Once you have an active subscription, click Manage in Stripe to open the Stripe Customer Portal. From there you can update your card, download invoices, change or cancel your plan, and update billing address and tax ID.
When you close the portal, you're brought back to the subscription page.
"Billing is not configured"
The shop isn't hooked up to Stripe yet. Billing has to be switched on by FloorSimple before plans show up here. Contact whoever set up your FloorSimple instance.
When a payment fails (the 7-day grace window)
If your card declines on a renewal, your subscription flips to Past due and we email you a link to update your card. Nothing locks right away. You keep every Pro feature for 7 days, so you aren't cut off mid-job while you fix payment details.
What happens during the 7-day window:
- The Past due badge shows in the subscription card.
- The red banner on the subscription page asks you to update your card.
- Stripe retries the charge a few times.
- Every Pro feature stays available.
If you update your card (in Manage in Stripe) and a retry succeeds during the window, the subscription returns to Active and the banner goes away. Nothing else for you to do.
If the 7 days pass without a successful payment, the shop drops to the Starter (Free) tier. Your data stays put, but Pro features turn off: recurring calendar events stop, you can no longer generate payment links, and automated notifications stop sending. The subscription itself stays on file. As soon as a payment goes through (via the billing portal), you're back on Pro.
What changes by plan
- Seats. Starter: 1 (the owner). Pro: 5.
- Active customers. Starter: 25 (hard cap). Pro: unlimited.
- Active jobs. Starter: soft warning at 5 or more. Pro: unlimited.
- Recurring calendar events. Pro only.
- QuickBooks integration. Pro only.
- Stripe payment provider. Pro only.
- Automated email and SMS. Pro only.
How limits surface in the UI
- Seat cap. Users page shows "X of Y seats" next to Invite teammate. At cap, the button disables and a banner offers to upgrade.
- Active-customer cap. Customers page shows "X of Y active". On Free, New customer disables when you hit 25. Archive a customer or upgrade to keep adding.
- Active-job soft cap. On Free, the Service orders page shows a yellow banner once you have 5 or more jobs in flight (anything other than completed or cancelled). It's a heads-up only. You're not blocked from creating more.
- Pro features. Settings → Integrations, → Payment providers, and → Notifications each show an inline upgrade prompt on Free, with the connect/save action disabled. Existing connections from a prior Pro period stay visible so you can disconnect them after a downgrade.
- Recurring calendar events. The Repeat toggle in the event editor shows a "Pro" badge and is disabled on Free.
- Plan badge. Click your avatar in the sidebar to see your current plan and a quick Upgrade link if you're on Free.
- Messaging usage. On Pro, Settings → Notifications shows "Messages this month" with email and SMS pools and an overage warning.
